
Daniel Taut-Yang Cheung, Solicitor-Advocate
Daniel Taut-Yang Cheung graduated from The Edinburgh University with a MA (Hons) degree and obtained a Distinction at the College of Law in his Legal Practice Course.
Daniel has represented both employees and employers at the Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. The issues he has dealt with include discrimination, redundancy, victimisation, harassment, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, unpaid wages, bonuses, holiday pay, sick pay, protected disclosures, TUPE and illegal contracts. His employment clients are from various nationalities, including those from China, Malaysia, UK, Romania, Yugoslavia, Africa, India, Brazil, South Africa and Kenya. In the Tribunals, he considers himself to be a firm but fair advocate. Outside of the Tribunals, he maintains a friendly approach to clients.
He remains an Employment Law and Social Security representative of the Free Representation Unit. He has Higher Rights of Audience in both civil and criminal proceedings. Daniel speaks English and Chinese.

Paige Xia, Solicitor and Chinese Lawyer
Peijun Paige Xia is dual qualified as an English solicitor and a Chinese lawyer. She guides businesses especially Chinese businesses in the UK navigating the legal and regulatory framework governing each stage of their development from the initial establishment, operation to expansion through mergers and acquisitions. As well as corporate commercial work, Paige’s practice areas also cover employment and commercial property. Paige has substantial experience in non- contentious employment work including general corporate support such as executive contracts, employment handbook as well as advice on TUPE transfer and company restructures/redundancies.

Carol Uribe, European and Brazilian Lawyer
Carolina Uribe is a qualified Brazilian lawyer and a member of the Portuguese Bar. In Brazil, Mrs Uribe specialised in criminal law. During university she was an intern of the Public Defence Office, in particular jury hearings where she worked assisting the public defenders in plenary oral hearings.
Since she qualified in Brazil she worked with an established criminal law firm before coming to the UK.
Her experience in the UK began in 2006 working as an immigration adviser. She studied at City University and has completed “Introduction to Immigration Law” course and later qualified as a Level 1 immigration adviser.
In 2007, Mrs Uribe joined the Maxwell Alves team and has been working in the Brazil
and Latin America team dealing with immigration and family matters.
