Protected rights on the transfer of a trade or business

Where a trade or business is transferred from one employer to another, the employees of that trade or business automatically become employees of the new employer, as if their contract of employment were originally made with the new employer. The service is counted as continuous from the date on which the employment commenced with the first employer.
